After a brief stop in the historic Animas Forks ghost town, the little purple devil Jeeps up to the summit of Cinnamon Pass before his descent to Lake City.

As you can see, the weather was a bit more winter-like at elevation, even if it was August!

Last summer, our little purple adventurer also took a trip back in time to the Animas Forks ghost town.

And he didn’t use the Wayback Machine. He rented a jeep from Vickers Ranch in Lake City and headed over Cinnamon Pass on the Alpine Loop from Silverton.

Barney’s been slackin’ again! Before he headed back to the mountains for the summer, he hung out off the grid for a while in the canyons of Utah near the historic Dewey Bridge which was consumed by fire in 2008. Hopefully he’ll post pictures from more recent adventures soon.

Passing through St. David, Arizona, that little heathen Barney stopped at the Holy Trinity Benedictine monastery for a bit of redemption.
That and some some fresh baked goods.
Those monks even have quite a nice little holy campground there!

Barney did not choose to watch the Sex Life of the Date when visiting Shields Date Garden in Indio, CA.

He did, however, enjoy a delicious date shake. No, really!
